I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE.

I am DARCY LEIGH CLARK

HERE IS HOW THIS WHOLE THING GOT STARTED.

You may have noticed that I keep mentioning adventure and wondered, Is this girl a former rock climber, safari guide, or adrenaline junkie?

Short answer: No. My passion and love for Jesus just run deep, and I believe He’s made it possible for each of us to live a life full of adventure. There’s this lie going around that our best days are behind us, that it’s time to grow up, get serious, earn a degree (or two), let go of childhood dreams and chase after material things we think will make us happy.

As we grow up, we start reserving adventure, fun, and whimsy strictly for vacations—like trips to the mountains or road trips to the beach. But it doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, we were designed to live a life where adventure and big dreams don’t take a back seat.

Jesus invites us into a lifetime of adventure and dreaming big—not just on occasional trips, but every single day.

My story goes back quite a while, so I'll spare you the endless details of all the moves (I've lived in 16 different houses, and I'm only in my 20s!).

Let’s start when I was at Texas A&M University (WHOOP!). I spent two years studying there before stepping into full-time vocational ministry. From a young age, I felt this constant tug—an invisible pull to pour into the lives of young people (and older folks too, if you're reading this—hi! And just so you know, you're young to me). Combine that with growing up believing that Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and voilà—you get my calling to Youth Ministry, among other things (my passion for writing—curating resources for you—being an author and mentor—those are the other things).

When I stepped into vocational ministry in East Tennessee, I discovered something: we’re all craving adventure and have these big dreams, but some of us have forgotten how to adventure and how to dream with eyes open. Life starts to chip away at us, turning our world from full color to black and white.

Since then, I’ve served in various places, from global-scale ministries as a content director to local ministries loving on high schoolers and college students. Can I be honest with you, I prefer the in person—but after living in 5 states by such a young age getting to be microscopic part of so many lives changed I decided to take the words I have given and make them written—give them a home.

And now, here I am, writing to you. I’ve heard that writing is the legacy we leave behind. Well, I’m not dead yet, but this has become my preferred way of continuing to pour into the lives of people I love, even if I’m states away.

I remember being a college freshman, feeling so lost and trapped by the pressures to fit in—partying, drinking, chasing image-based things. Looking back now, I think, man, if only I had these words, these resources that Jesus has helped me create, when I was that age.

Which brings me to the last thing I want you to know: I’ve created this resource and platform for you. Whether you’re here for personal encouragement, to share with a friend, or even if you’re a parent looking for something to give to your daughter, I’m glad you’re here.

Gosh, I’m glad I’m still here—Jesus is kind.
